The Weeds
I’ve been pulling lots of bindweed lately. I call it the 20 mile weed, but it’s probably more like the 100 mile weed!
Several years ago I planted beautiful ice plant and it has filled in nicely, very tight, but somehow the bindweed seems to make it’s way through.
If I don’t stay on top of pulling them, they start to take over.
This reminds me of our negative thoughts. You know, the kind of thoughts where you worry about everything that could go wrong, make up stories in your head about stuff, those anxiety producing thoughts.
No matter how positive you are, sometimes those anxiety producing thoughts pop into our heads, it’s part of being human. I think we are all in training learning how to use the power of our minds.
When those negative thoughts start to take over, it can be very difficult to get out of the muck. It might feel like there’s a dark cloud over our heads. Sometimes you need someone to pull those nasty weeds.
Stuck in a Loop
I thought of a friend whose son is having a challenging time with alcohol. He spent time in the hospital, but that didn’t deter him, he keeps drinking and has relapsed and gone back to the hospital.
I don’t think he will be able to make the changes by himself. He needs someone at a different level to help him pull those weeds of negative thinking, someone to address the root causes, help him see things in a different way.
Simply going back into the same environment and doing the same thing won’t change things.
Change Your Thinking to Change Your Life
Einstein said, “No problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it.” Einstein means in whatever situation we are facing, we need to rise up to a new consciousness. A new way of thinking.
There are support groups, therapists, healers, coaches, all types of assistance. I think people in that environment need their stinking thinking to be challenged, new information, new perceptions.
I’ve had my own stinking thinking. That’s why I created my program Tune-Up Your Mind, to help shift one’s thinking at the subconscious level.
Here are some tips you can implement to change your thoughts:
- Don’t suppress, acknowledge your feelings.
- Question your thoughts, is it really true? Sometimes we make up stories that just aren’t true.
- Gratitude practice helps to focus your mind on everything you appreciate. Squeeze the weeds of negative thinking.
Work with me?
If you feel like you could use a balance, your life is out of alignment, need a tune-up, have some limiting beliefs to work through, anxiety, sadness, melancholy, relationship issues, feel stuck, need some weeds pulled, it would be my honor to facilitate your blossoming.
